Dr. Lula Belle Stewart |
Lula Belle Stewart
Center, Inc.. established in 1972 was named I honor of the late
Dr. Lula Belle Stewart.
Dr. Stewart was the first African American pediatric cardiologist
in the state of Michigan. She is described as a sensitive,
insightful, deeply caring and courageous woman who loved people.
As a result of her work with families throughout the Metropolitan
Detroit area, she had a lasting impact on the Detroit community.
Dr. Stewart was a native of Jackson, Mississippi.

OUR MISSION
Lula Belle Stewart Center
provides services, which promote the well-being of pregnant
youth, parenting adolescents, young adults and their families in
Southeastern Michigan.
